email marketing templateIf you’re like me you’ve signed up for many email marketing subscriptions over the years.

Eventually, they all start to blend together, with sales pitch after sales pitch after sales pitch. It gets to a point sometimes when I check my inbox that I need to take a deep breath, a shot of bourbon, and go on an inbox decluttering spree, unsubscribing from most of them.

That is unless there is an entertaining, fun, and interesting subject line and short description. Those I actually look forward to reading. One of those email lists that I’m signed up for is from Ramit Sethi. Ramit Sethi writes about money, business and psychology and does so in a way that makes it easy to apply to your daily life and career.

I keep all the emails I get from Ramit Sethi in a folder so that I have them as examples for my own emails and newsletters. One of the emails I received from him was titled ‘Watch me write an email – from scratch’. Not only was the email very informative, but he included a step-by-step video which is what we’re going to take a look at here.

Learn How To Build an Entertaining, Interesting, and Compelling Email Marketing Template

In this over-the-shoulder email marketing tutorial video, Ramit shows you how exactly he went from a blank page to a finished email that was ready to send out to 800,000+ readers. Is he just throwing sh!# against the wall to see what sticks? Is there a method to the madness?

There actually is a method to the madness. And that method has everything to do with having a predictable, repeatable process. From the idea to the rough outline to the writing and editing. It’s really very simple. It’s all about storytelling.
